Bumbles Plant Centre

Colourful pots for the garden or conservatoryLate October brought some stormy weather with "St Jude" causing disruption for many. The leaves on the trees made some quite top heavy and the wet ground caused a few to topple but in general we got off much more lightly than in 1987...for those who remember it!

But there's still lots to do outside and the sunny days can still be quite mild so do enjoy your garden or allotment and call in to see us when you need anything...or just for some gardening chat!

Now that the clocks have gone back we really start to see the nights drawing in. Ground frosts will soon be a regular feature so it's wise to have a look around the garden for those tender perennials that might need some winter cover.

Take the opportunity on brighter days to clean up leaves and debris and put them on a compost heap. Remember that with every third level of compost it's good to add an activator e.g. Garrotta to help the compost to break down quicker. You'll end up with a fantastic soil conditioner in the summer and it'll be full of those wonderful red worms that do all the hard graft for you.
